February 22, 2019

The Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) is pleased to announce that DSM has recently joined the organization. DSM's Bio-based Products and Services unit is headquartered in Elgin, Ill., with global research capabilities at the Elgin site and a start-of-the art facility in Delft, The Netherlands. DSM has been advancing the production of cellulosic ethanol from various feedstocks and is involved in the Project Liberty joint venture with POET. DSM is now starting up the first-of-its-kind on-site manufacturing of enzymes to supply Project Liberty. "DSM is excited to join the RFA. We are passionate about biofuels and continuing to work with the organization, members and stakeholders to support the industry and bring higher performance, robust solutions to the marketplace," said Hans van der Sluijs, business director DSM Bio-based Products and Services. "We are excited to welcome DSM to the RFA family," said RFA President and CEO Geoff Cooper. "DSM is making invaluable contributions to the ongoing evolution of the renewable fuels industry. We are proud to provide industry-leading technical, research, government relations, regulatory, and public relations expertise to these two companies and the rest of our membership. We look forward to working with DSM as it focuses on commercializing cellulosic biofuels, which offer substantial greenhouse gas reductions and clean air benefits to consumers." As an associate member of RFA, DSM is one of 62 associate member companies and the first organization to join RFA's membership in 2019.
