WASHINGTON The Renewable Fuels Foundation, the education and research arm of the Renewable Fuels Association, is hosting on July 7 the second of five webinars focused on ethanols unique octane properties, its importance as a blend component in todays gasoline supply, and its potential role as the low-carbon octane source of choice in future fuels. The webinars are being conducted by MathPro, Inc., a firm specializing in technical and economic analysis of the petroleum refining sector. The second webinar, entitled Gasoline Refining and Blending 101, will be held from 11 a.m. noon CT. The webinar series comes as automakers continue to push for higher octane fuels to enable greater engine efficiency and facilitate compliance with future fuel economy and greenhouse gas standards. The first webinar, All About Octane, was held on June 15. There will be three more webinars held in this series:
