The question of the day is: Is VEETC in or out? The short answer is only those in the room know for sure.
President Obama announced last night that a deal with Congressional Republicans was reached to extend expiring Bush-era tax cuts and some other signature items. The negotiations about other expiring tax provisions, including the tax incentive for ethanol use known as VEETC, were being left to Congressional leaders to work out. That process is currently ongoing.
The RFA understands that VEETC remains part of the discussion. But there is no final bill yet, and until there is, no one knows for sure what is in and what is out.
