Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a “sleeper hazard;” very little information outside scientific literature has been published to help facilities understand CO2 health effects and control CO2 exposures. This Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Safety Program – Chemical and Physical Properties; Major Uses; Ethanol Manufacturing Production of CO2; Physical and Health Hazards; and Guidelines for Maintaining Safe Working Conditions, Including Safety Awareness, Safe Handling, and Hazard Minimization is designed to fill the gaps.
A poster and brochure, Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Safety Awareness, are available that condense the information in the program booklet. The poster and brochure highlight what CO2 is, symptoms of overexposure, things you need to know, your process and how to be safe.
