As Senior Vice President, Government & Public Affairs, Troy Bredenkamp leads RFA’s government relations and communications teams and efforts. In this capacity, Troy works with RFA’s CEO in the development and execution of the organization’s policy and regulatory advocacy priorities, interacting regularly with members of Congress and key staffers, as well as officials in the executive branch. Additionally, Troy oversees RFA’s external communications efforts, working with RFA’s public affairs team-members to effectively communicate the organization’s viewpoints and successes to members, policy-makers and consumers.
As a member of RFA’s senior leadership team, Troy is also involved in developing and executing the broad-based strategies needed to complete the organization’s goals as set by the RFA Board of Directors.
Previously, Troy served as the Executive Director of Renewable Fuels Nebraska, the trade association for Nebraska’s ethanol producers, where he managed the organization’s efforts with legislative and industry leaders both at the state and federal levels, while serving as the industry spokesperson. Prior to RFN, Troy served as General Manager of the Nebraska Rural Electric Association, Executive Vice President of the Colorado Farm Bureau, and Director of Congressional Relations for the American Farm Bureau Federation in Washington, DC.
Troy is a native of York, Neb., where he was raised on a 500-acre diversified farm operation, still owned by his family. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a B.S. in education with a major in natural sciences.
