The Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) today congratulated member company Homeland Energy Solutions on its 10th anniversary. The company was formed in 2005 and began production at its Iowa ethanol plant on April 4, 2009.
Homeland Energy Solutions operates a 200 million gallon per year ethanol plant in Lawler, Iowa. The facility also produces distillers grains, a valuable animal feed co-product, and corn oil.
To date, the biorefinery has produced more than 1.4 billion gallons of ethanol, 275 million pounds of corn oil and purchased and ground just under 500 million bushels of corn.
“Ten years ago this week, Homeland Energy Solutions began producing ethanol, bringing new job opportunities to northeast Iowa and creating a new value-added local market for area farmers,” said RFA President and CEO Geoff Cooper. “A decade later, Homeland continues to provide those local benefits, while also helping to address the national objectives of cleaner air and greater energy security. Congratulations to Homeland Energy Solutions’ investors, board members and employees for this achievement and best wishes for many more to come,” he added.
