The Renewable Fuels Association is celebrating a major win as professional bass angler Ryan Armstrong used his E10-powered boat to secure first place at Major League Fishing’s Tackle Warehouse Invitationals – Stop 1 in Kissimmee, Florida.
The impressive performance showcased Armstrong’s skill, strategy, and relentless determination against the top anglers in the sport. It also showcased the exceptional performance of E10 in marine applications during high-pressure competition. Armstrong’s success helps to further dispel the myth that ethanol-blended fuel can’t be used in boats or somehow leads to inferior performance.
Sponsored by RFA, Armstrong dominated the competition, executing a methodical approach that ultimately led to his victory on the third day of competition.
“The RFA simply couldn’t be more proud of our sponsored bass angler, Ryan Armstrong,” said Robert White, RFA’s Senior Vice President of Industry Relations & Market Development. “Ryan’s no-quit determination and ability to adapt on the water are a testament to his skill and hard work. His success not only highlights his talent but also provides a powerful platform to showcase the performance and reliability of ethanol-blended fuels in boats and the sportfishing world.”
Armstrong credited RFA and ethanol producers for fueling his journey to victory. “I wouldn’t be here without the support of ethanol and the Renewable Fuels Association,” Armstrong said. “This is the best start possible for the 2025 season, and I look forward to further representing corn farmers and ethanol producers across the country, demonstrating that ethanol-blended fuels not only fuel boats, but fuel championships!”
His win is a major milestone in his career, further solidifying his reputation as one of the top anglers in the sport. Along with securing the $80,000 first-place prize, his performance over the weekend was a testament to the power of precision and patience in professional bass fishing.
RFA remains committed to supporting athletes like Armstrong, who exemplify hard work, innovation, and sustainability. RFA’s sponsorship highlights the vital role ethanol plays in high-performance engines, offering a cleaner, renewable fuel option for both professional anglers and everyday boaters.
