WASHINGTON — The Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) and Renewable Fuels Foundation (RFF) are pleased to announce that Abigail Fisler has been awarded a student scholarship that will send her to New Orleans for the 21st Annual National Ethanol Conference (NEC) in February. The scholarship provides students who study renewable fuels at higher education institutions with complimentary registration at the conference and allows recipients the chance to connect with hundreds of leaders, policymakers, and experts in the renewable fuels industry. Students must have the intent to pursue a career in the industry to be eligible for the scholarship.
Abigail is a junior at Dickinson College and is pursuing two bachelor’s degrees in environmental studies — with a focus on renewable energy and climate change — and Italian studies, respectively. She was introduced to biofuels at a young age during a fourth-grade field trip to an ethanol plant in Lakota, Iowa. Last summer, she worked as an intern for California Ethanol and Power, where she assisted with investor presentations, developing marketing materials, and providing business plan updates. This summer Abigail intends to gain additional experience in the areas of sustainable energy and policy development. She ultimately plans to work globally in the field due to her affinity for foreign languages and cultures.
