DES MOINES, Iowa — Today, the Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) announced the election of Mick Henderson, General Manager of Kentucky-based Commonwealth Agri-Energy, as the next Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors. Commonwealth Agri-Energy employs 30 members of the local community and produces 33 million gallons of ethanol annually.
In the ethanol industry since 1981, Henderson is responsible for all aspects of the plant including engineering, construction, personnel training, and creating companywide programs and policies. Henderson previously served in the role of Secretary for the RFA Board of Directors.
“The ethanol industry is being attacked on all sides and I am proud to be appointed to the leadership team for the RFA Board of Directors as the industry continues to fend off the misinformation being circulated by our opponents and promote the benefits of domestically-produced, low-cost renewable fuels. The RFA’s vast resources and knowledge will be vital in fighting back against attacks on America’s premiere energy policy, the Renewable Fuel Standard, and — as always — I look forward to the challenge,” Henderson said.
