Christopher Standlee
Chairman, RFA Board of Directors
As Chairman of RFA’s Board of Directors, Christopher Standlee leads the association’s oversight and governance efforts and helps to strengthen and mobilize RFA’s membership. Chris is also Executive Vice President for Abengoa Bioenergy Corporation, one of the world’s largest producers of ethanol. Additionally, he serves as and Executive Vice President and member of the Board of Directors for Abengoa Bioenergy US Holding, Inc.
Headquartered in Chesterfield, Missouri, Abengoa Bioenergy Corporation operates four production facilities in the United States, three facilities in Spain, one in France, and two recently-acquired facilities in Brazil. Four new production facilities are under construction in the U.S and Europe, including a DOE-sponsored biomass-to-ethanol facility in Hugoton, Kansas.
In 1995, Chris became Vice President and General Counsel of High Plains Corporation, a NASDAQ publicly traded company. He served in that capacity until High Plains was acquired by Abengoa, S.A. in 2002. Prior to 1995, Chris maintained a private corporate and business-related law practice in Wichita, Kansas.
In addition to his work on RFA’s Board of Directors, Chris is active as an officer and board member of both the Nebraska and Kansas ethanol producer associations.
Chris obtained his undergraduate degree from Yale University and graduated from law school at the University of Kansas.
