The Renewable Fuels Association is proud to announce the addition of Carbogenesis and Octent Automation to its distinguished group of associate members. This expansion signifies the RFA's ongoing dedication to broadening its network with organizations that are at the forefront of technological and environmental advancements within the renewable fuels industry.

“We are thrilled to welcome Carbogenesis and Octent Automation to the RFA family, and we look forward to working with them to expand market opportunities for low-carbon renewable fuels and co-products,” said RFA President and CEO Geoff Cooper. “It is clear these companies share our vision for a cleaner, healthier, sustainable energy future. As RFA’s members continue progressing toward their goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 or sooner, we’re excited to bring innovators like Carbogenesis and Octent into the fold.”

Carbogenesis, led by Dr. David Soane and supported by Ara Partners, a global private equity fund focused on industrial decarbonization, aims to achieve net-zero CO2 emissions by productively converting carbon dioxide into valuable materials. The company leverages advanced plasma physics and chemical engineering to transform CO2, which would otherwise contribute to atmospheric pollution, into high-value chemicals. With a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary technical team, Carbogenesis is optimistic about the unlimited market potential for these sustainable, low-emission products. More information on the company can be found at carbogenesis.com.

“We are excited to join the Renewable Fuels Association,” said Vice President of Research and Development at Carbogenesis, Dr. Alexander Soane. “Carbogenesis has developed an innovative and rapidly scalable carbon utilization technology. We hope to form strong partnerships within the RFA community in the joint effort to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions. We recognize that emerging technologies and developed industries have excellent potential to work together towards common goals and look forward to participation in the RFA community.”

Octent Automation specializes in providing affordable, modular tools designed to enhance overall outcomes during the fermentation process while reducing operational costs. The company’s Multi-Sensor Probe (MSP) provides real-time data collection of in-tank temperature stratification and density. Combining MSP data with Octent’s non-SCADA automation platform provides unique insight and control over the fermentation process. Offering the flexibility to integrate with existing PLC’s and controls infrastructure to bridge technological gaps across a manufacturing plant, Octent is ideal for those seeking innovative solutions to unique problems in the fermentation environment without a hefty price tag.
